Our client is recruiting a high calibre and dynamic Finance Director to be based at their headquarters in Geneva. To compliment their existing senior leadership team, they are looking for a Finance Director to lead their group finance as well as identify new areas of growth. You will be responsible for the overall finance function for the group and report directly to the CEO.
Establish the accounting system to ensure the accuracy of accounting records and the timely preparation of the financial reporting.
Responsible for preparing accounting vouchers, posting financial transactions using accounting software and preparing the financial reporting for internal and external uses.
Responsible for checking the company's bank account, payables account and receivables accounts; regularly reconciling the company's ledgers with bank statements and creditors/debtors' statements; and (iii) timely check suppliers' billings and process the payment requests.
Responsible for financial budgeting and its evaluation.
Responsible for timely filing of tax returns and processing of tax payments and satisfying other financial compliance requirements.
Collaborating with various group companies and various internal departments to fulfill their financial requests.
Responsible for designing, implementing and monitoring internal controls over financial reporting and maintaining the company's accounting record independently
Partner with cross-functional teams across the organization and various geographies to evaluate various strategic investments.
Financial systems implementations and process improvement initiatives
Various corporate-level special projects, including financial systems implementations and process improvement initiatives.
Master's degree in economy or business; major in accounting, financial management or other related areas; CFA designation and/or MBA a plus.
10+ years of related working experience.
Fluent English and French languages.
Solid business acumen with strong knowledge of accounting rules and procedures; IFRS and GAAP standards, Audited Financial Statements.
Familiar with finance and taxation policies, regulations in Switzerland. Ability to communicate with Swiss authorities. Experience with EU finance topics in corporate settings is an advantage.
Advanced knowledge in the usage of spreadsheets, usage of accounting software, data entry and preparing financial reports, process improvements, internal audits, budgeting and forecasting, business intelligence, Zero-based budgeting, variance analysis.
Experience using the following tools; SAP FI/CO, CapEx forecasting.
Previous managerial experience with the ability to build out a team - preferably within a Shared Services model.
Understanding of a corporate environment in international settings. Background in a life-science company is a plus.
Strategic mindset and ability to build systems and solutions. Ability to work independently and readiness for some amount of hands-on tasks at the beginning.
