Coffee, croissants, business cards \u2013 what at first glance appeared to be a typical early-morning gathering of professionals evolved, on 10 July 2025, into a space for unexpectedly profound dialogue. The <em>Breakfast Briefing \u2013 HR Edition<\/em>, initiated by albedis, brought together HR Directors, CHROs and senior decision-makers from a range of national and international companies with two forward-thinking guest speakers. What unfolded was not just an exchange of data and frameworks, but the emergence of a fundamentally different perspective on leadership, culture and transformation. Somewhere between psychological safety, hybrid complexity and systems thinking, a room opened up in which the future was not prescribed \u2013 but co-created.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"858\" src=\"https:\/\/www.albedis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/2-1024x858.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15212\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.albedis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/2-1024x858.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.albedis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/2-300x251.png 300w, https:\/\/www.albedis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/2-768x644.png 768w, https:\/\/www.albedis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/2.png 1410w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Culture as capital: Insights from the European Workforce Study 2025<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>The event began with Tobias V\u00e9ron, Co-Owner and Consultant at <em>Great Place to Work\u00ae Switzerland<\/em>, who presented the latest findings from the <em>European Workforce Study<\/em> \u2013 one of the continent\u2019s most comprehensive surveys on workplace culture. Over 20,000 employees from 19 countries were surveyed, regardless of industry, role or employer. The insights were as nuanced as they were urgent:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Switzerland ranks among the top five countries in Europe for job satisfaction, alongside Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Austria.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>However, only 59% of employees report experiencing psychological safety \u2013 a key risk factor when it comes to innovation, engagement and emotional commitment.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Leaders tend to consistently overestimate the strength of their relationships with employees, while many team members feel unheard or left out of decision-making.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the most striking findings was the growing disconnect around hybrid work: while many employees seek flexibility and trust in shaping their work routines, a large number of companies continue to enforce traditional on-site expectations \u2013 often misaligned with today\u2019s cultural reality.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is where outdated control logic collides with a new understanding of work,\u201d V\u00e9ron summarised. \u201cIf we want to build lasting bonds, we need to listen more \u2013 and understand leadership as a relational practice.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"858\" src=\"https:\/\/www.albedis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/4-1-1024x858.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15215\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.albedis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/4-1-1024x858.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.albedis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/4-1-300x251.png 300w, https:\/\/www.albedis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/4-1-768x644.png 768w, https:\/\/www.albedis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/4-1.png 1410w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Sharon Olivier: When leadership becomes a movement<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>The conceptual counterpoint to the data-driven analysis came from Sharon Olivier, leadership expert, researcher and guest speaker invited by Acceleris \u2013 a Geneva-based international consultancy and part of the Interiman Group. Acceleris specialises in the design and facilitation of accelerated learning and development solutions for individuals, teams, and organisations. As an internationally active consultancy based in Switzerland, Acceleris supports companies in rethinking leadership, with a strong focus on cultural transformation and organisational evolution.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In her keynote, Olivier called for a radical shift in how we think about leadership. Rather than viewing organisations through the lens of authority and decision chains, she urged leaders to understand them as dynamic, adaptive systems, shaped by relationships, mutual perception and shared orientation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Three leadership Intelligences for complex organisational systems<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Olivier identified three essential leadership capacities for navigating this complexity:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Intuitive Intelligence<\/strong>\u00a0<br>The ability to anticipate developments and sense when to act \u2013 or question \u2013 even when data is incomplete.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"2\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Eco-Intelligence<\/strong>\u00a0<br>The skill of integrating different perspectives, holding space for dialogue, and managing \u2013 rather than avoiding \u2013 tension.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"3\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Ego-Intelligence<\/strong>\u00a0<br>Not in the narcissistic sense, but as the ability to provide structure, clarity and direction without resorting to control.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEffective leadership doesn\u2019t stem from formal authority,\u201d Olivier explained, \u201cbut from social resonance. It emerges in places where people offer trust \u2013 not because they have to, but because they choose to.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"858\" src=\"https:\/\/www.albedis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/5-1024x858.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15221\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.albedis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/5-1024x858.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.albedis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/5-300x251.png 300w, https:\/\/www.albedis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/5-768x644.png 768w, https:\/\/www.albedis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/5.png 1410w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>When change starts from within<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Olivier backed her conceptual approach with real-world examples of organisations that are rethinking transformation from within.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One example came from a large Swiss insurer that deliberately identified informal trust leaders: employees known to be authentic, credible and influential, regardless of their role or title. These so-called &#8220;sparks&#8221; were activated to co-drive cultural change \u2013 not as traditional change agents, but as credible relationship builders within everyday structures.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another example involved a globally operating company in the beauty industry, headquartered in French-speaking Switzerland and shaped by historically hierarchical norms. Here, a company-wide program was launched to foster cultural simplicity and proximity: flattening internal language, increasing individual accountability and distributing decision-making authority. The result was a measurable rise in psychological safety \u2013 visible in stronger feedback culture, greater innovation readiness and higher employee retention.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A resonance space for forward-looking HR-leaders<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>The Breakfast Briefing was more than a conventional networking event. It became a space of resonance, where participants shared their own leadership and HR challenges: navigating generational shifts, balancing agility with structure, rethinking reward systems, or exploring performance beyond traditional KPIs.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The post-event feedback revealed a strong appetite for more formats of this kind.
