Coal Purchase Manager
For a fixed-term contract with a 100% workload.

Sourcing & Supplier Management
Identify and engage international coal suppliers in line with operational and commercial requirements.
Review and assess supplier proposals based on quality, pricing, and overall value considerations.
Manage and develop the supplier portfolio, including qualification, compliance checks, and ongoing performance monitoring.
Lead commercial discussions and negotiate international purchasing terms and conditions.
Operational & Internal Coordination
Work closely with internal stakeholders such as production, planning, and finance to align purchasing activities with business needs.
Coordinate logistics instructions related to transportation and delivery scheduling.
Monitor deliveries and ensure contractual commitments are met in terms of volume, quality, and timing.
Support operational follow-up related to shipping performance, quality inspections, claims, and supplier evaluation.
Risk Management & Planning
Contribute to the definition and implementation of risk management and hedging strategies adapted to international markets.
Provide forecasts on prices, volumes, and funding requirements to support purchasing and delivery planning.
Participate in budget coordination related to procurement and payment flows.
Contract & Reporting Oversight
Prepare, review, and follow up on supply contracts and purchase agreements.
Ensure accurate documentation and data entry within procurement and financial systems.
Produce regular activity reports in line with internal reporting standards.
Market Intelligence & Business Development
Maintain active market awareness and identify potential new business opportunities.
Represent the company at international industry events and maintain a strong external network.
Profil attendu
5 to 10 years of experience in international commodities trading or procurement, preferably within the coal and/or coke sector, with a solid understanding of global pricing mechanisms, freight dynamics, logistics, quality control, and financing structures.
Strong exposure to international risk management and hedging strategies, combined with the ability to analyse global supply and demand trends and identify sourcing opportunities.
Good knowledge of international procurement practices, contract negotiation, supplier management, and value-based product assessment, within a structured trading environment.
Sound understanding of international trade principles, contractual frameworks, maritime transport, and freight markets, including experience with letters of credit and international payment instruments.
Strong analytical and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage supplier relationships across different markets and cultural environments.
High level of integrity, attention to detail, and accountability, paired with a proactive and results-driven mindset.
Effective communicator, comfortable working in cross-functional and multicultural environments, with willingness to travel internationally.
Fluent in English; Russian and/or Ukrainian is considered an asset. Swiss or EU nationality, or a valid Swiss work permit required.
