As a Senior Trading Connectivity Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, configuration, enhancement and support of electronic trading connectivity across multiple asset classes. You will work closely with trading, operations, business stakeholders and technology teams to maintain and evolve critical order routing, market connectivity and execution workflows within a global trading environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, configure and maintain FIX-based trading connectivity with external counterparties, brokers, exchanges and trading venues
  • Define, implement and optimize workflows across order routing, execution management and post-trade processes
  • Configure, test and deploy new trading connectivity solutions and functionality enhancements
  • Support onboarding of trading venues, brokers and external execution providers
  • Analyse incidents, trading flow issues and connectivity problems across multiple systems and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with business users, traders and operations teams to improve efficiency and reliability of trading workflows
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, interface specifications and operational procedures
  • Participate in project delivery activities related to trading connectivity, market access and platform enhancements

Profil attendu

You hold a university-level qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related discipline and bring several years of current, hands-on experience supporting and enhancing electronic trading connectivity solutions within a financial institution.

Additionally:
  • Minimum 5 years of practical experience working with FIX Protocol connectivity in a banking, broker-dealer, asset management or capital markets environment
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of FIX messaging, FIX session management, order routing and electronic trading workflows
  • Experience supporting trading activities across one or more asset classes such as Equities, Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange or Derivatives
  • Good understanding of market access, execution flows, settlement processes and post-trade lifecycle events
  • Practical experience with TLS, encryption technologies, certificate management and secure trading connectivity
  • Strong networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, connectivity troubleshooting and message flow analysis
  • Experience investigating and resolving production incidents related to FIX sessions, order routing and trading infrastructure
  • Exposure to front-office trading platforms, execution management systems (EMS) or order management systems (OMS)
  • Knowledge of Python scripting for automation, monitoring or troubleshooting is advantageous
  • Experience working with enterprise banking or trading platforms is beneficial
  • Strong analytical mindset with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to work independently while engaging effectively with traders, operations teams and technology stakeholders
  • Fluent in English; German is advantageous
  • Valid CH work permit or EU/EFTA citizenship required
  • Willingness to work 100% on-site
