Role Overview

In this role, you will be responsible for the operation, stability and ongoing development of the organisation’s database platforms in a global environment. You will ensure reliable performance and availability of critical systems while continuously improving automation, scalability and operational efficiency. The position combines hands‑on engineering with infrastructure optimisation and close collaboration with cross‑functional IT teams.
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and maintain database operations, including troubleshooting and incident management
• Implement changes and enhancements in line with established processes and governance frameworks
• Analyse system performance and resource utilisation, identifying improvement opportunities across the application lifecycle
• Develop and implement automation solutions to increase efficiency and reliability
• Contribute to infrastructure development initiatives and actively support migration projects
• Execute recovery tests and provide second-level support, including participation in on‑call rotations

Your Profile

You hold a higher‑education degree in computer science or a related discipline and bring several years of current, hands-on experience in database engineering and operations within a complex IT environment. You are a reliable and solution‑oriented professional with a strong sense of ownership and quality.
 

Additionally:

• Several years of current experience in database operations and engineering
• Strong expertise in relational database technologies, particularly Oracle and PostgreSQL
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible is beneficial
• Structured, analytical working style with a focus on stability and efficiency
• Strong team‑oriented mindset and ability to collaborate across functions
• High level of accountability, integrity and hands‑on approach
• Fluent in English; German is an advantage
• Valid Swiss work permit or EU/EFTA citizenship required
• Willingness to work 100% on‑site
