We are now recruiting a Data Scientist for CGM Algorithm Development to join the Digital Biomarker Data Insights (DIDMI) team at our Basel headquarters. This full-time, on-site position offers a compelling opportunity for an experienced data scientist to lead the design, prototyping, and validation of innovative algorithms that turn complex sensor data into clinically actionable insights.

Job description

• Design, develop, and validate predictive and analytical algorithms for CGM data using advanced machine learning and statistical techniques

• Process and manage heterogeneous time-series data from medical devices, applying rigorous data cleaning, feature engineering, and transformation

• Build and optimize machine learning models (e.g., XGBoost, Neural Networks) and deliver high-quality, reproducible Python code for experimentation and analysis

• Collaborate within an Agile, multidisciplinary team, mentoring junior colleagues and translating project goals into actionable data science tasks

• Communicate complex technical results clearly to stakeholders, providing feasibility assessments and actionable recommendations

Expected profile

• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Scientist or Machine Learning Engineer

• Advanced academic background (Master or PhD) in Data Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or related fields

• Strong statistical foundation, with solid knowledge of experimental design and model validation techniques

• Expertise in Python and the core data science ecosystem: Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch, XGBoost/LightGBM

• Practical experience working with time-series data from physical sensors or monitoring devices
